== What the departure is taken to mean ==

The creeds differ less about the text than about why He is not here, and this is the more useful axis to sort them on. It is also the axis on which '''no definitive answer is available''', and a recruit should stop looking for one here. The departure means something different inside each cult, the difference is not a dispute that could in principle be settled, and this wiki has no vantage point above the creeds from which to settle it. {{R|contested|note=stated as a limit of the wiki, not as a mystery; we are saying we cannot know, not that it is unknowable}}

The readings we have heard, none of them ours:
